Miss Pole Dance Australia 2008 Queensland Heats Winner

This is an amazing clip of the winner of the Miss Pole Dance Australia 2008 Queensland heats.

Kym's performance was energetic, exciting, and very impressive - no wonder she took first place!

I'm sure it took lots of practice, dedication and hard work to pull off this performance, and she can be rightfully proud of her accomplishment.

The bar has been raised in more recent years of course, and today's top pole dancers are doing incredible tricks that were unheard of when this video was made.

Nonetheless, Kym gives an impressive show, and this video footage will no doubt serve as an important marker in the development of competition in our sport over time.

Her music is very uptempo, which isn't often seen in competition. Can you imagine the energy output needed to get through this routine?

For example, check out that side jump mount at about 2:30. Watch closely or you might miss it!

Remember though, many of these moves are advanced tricks, and Kym is using a rotating pole for some of them (the one on the right).

Enjoy and be inspired, but please don't try these moves at home without some instruction first. (A pole dance safety mat wouldn't be a bad idea either!)
