Thanks to Chris for submitting this video clip showing some really impressive spins.
Some people just LOVE to spin, while others can't seem to get over the dizzy factor. Chris is obviously in the former camp!
She claims she was just testing out her shiny new Christmas present, but I suspect it's not her first time on a rotating pole!
If you're thinking of graduating to a rotating or spinning model from a stationary one, watching this video clip can help you understand some of the physics behind what makes it spin faster or slower.
Chris Shows Off Some Spins On Her New Rotating Pole
While not for beginners, rotating dance poles do open up a whole new world of possibilities for pole dancing.
As you can see from this video, Chris is getting a feel for the differences in the dynamic of the movement, and how changing her body position can increase or decrease the speed of her spins.
Notice, for example, that she slows down when she extends her leg during her first inverted spin. This occurs about 15 seconds into the video, so watch for it to see what I mean.
Something else to look for is the control required when dismounting from spins. The faster the spin, the more strength is needed to land in one spot and gather up all that momentum that's behind you. Not as easy as it looks!
Like many amateur videos, the lighting isn't the best, but it's good enough to see what's going on. And Chris has done a lovely job of prettying up the background with curtains and extra lighting.
Her videographer also has a hard time containing his enthusiasm for Chris's skill, but let's cut the poor guy some slack shall we? After all, it's gotta be hard to keep your mouth shut when watching someone as talented as Chris pull off all those great pole dance spins!
