Flashback:
Flashdance Pole Dance!

This fun pole dance clip by an in-home, amateur dancer is done to a song from the classic 80's movie Flashdance, complete with hair tossing and body waving - so much fun!

The dancer in this amateur video clip attempts some fairly advanced moves, which I'm sure she's improved on even more since this video clip was made in the Summer of 2007.

I particularly like the unusual legwork in some of her spins, and she definitely has that split nailed down! She shows great rhythm, and camera rapport as well.

Flashback to Flashdance!

This gal also knows how to move, even without actually being up on the pole. For example, one of the first moves she performs is a standing body wave while simply holding onto it. Very nicely done!

Musicality (moving well to the music) is a skill that many students could improve on. While the tricks and acrobatics are certainly fun and impressive, you can't build an entire routine out of them!

Even the top pole dancers include floor work and other moves that give their muscles a bit of a break, while at the same time adding variety to their routines.

Takeaway lesson? Don't be afraid to utilize basic moves as well as spins, tricks and advanced aerial moves. They create interest and balance in your routine.

Would you like to learn to pole dance too?
