Pole Confidence
Pole Confidence offers beginner and intermediate pole dancing lessons in East Grinstead, West Sussex and Sompting, near Worthing and Brighton on the South Coast.
We specialise in private lessons where we are able to give personalised training to the student’s personal development goals.
This is ideal for the student who may be nervous about a group lesson or for someone who is looking to fast track their progress.
Private lessons are available Mondays to Saturdays from 8am – 9pm.
We also offer mixed ability group sessions. These classes are for a maximum of six students ensuring each student receives dedicated instructor attention, helping them develop their pole skills and confidence levels.

Classes involve learning a range of spins, climbs, inverts, poses and transitional dance moves as well as muscle, strength and endurance exercises and focus on developing flexibility. Students put together their own choreography as well as learning group routines.
Classes are fun, welcoming and open to anyone over 16, and all shapes and sizes.
Pole Confidence is a Pole Dance Community Dance School adhering to their strict levels of professionalism and code of conduct. Students can also opt to follow the PDC grading and syllabus in lessons.
Jo Ellis, the founder of Pole Confidence has been pole dancing since 2004 after her husband bought her pole dancing lessons, a pole and some pole shoes for a wedding present! Jo is also a clinical hypnotherapist and confidence coach and she quickly realised how empowering pole fitness is, now incorporating pole dancing and burlesque into her Confidence Coaching Workshops.
Jo trained with Pole Passion (up to Level 3), holds a Sports First Aid certificate and fully Public Liability Insurance. Jo is dedicated to continual professional development and regularly learns new moves and routines.
Without changing her eating habits, Jo lost two stone in weight when she first started poling and realised that pole is also a great way to exercise in disguise.
Charity work is very important to Pole Confidence and each year, students put on a charity showcase raising over £2500 for Macmillan Cancer Support in 2010. Students develop their own choreography to show the different sides of pole and burlesque.
The social side of Pole Confidence is very important with regular trips to burlesque clubs, pole dancing clubs, events and shows.
